Tata Nano Booking forms sold in three days
Tata Nano 51,000 booking forms sold in three days There is a huge rush for the Tata Nano in cities and towns alike.Reports say that Tata Nano forms are selling like hot cakes.
Although, there are no clear figures about the numbers of forms sold, reports say that 51000 booking forms for the Tata Nano were sold between April 4-April 7, 2009, from 218 dealerships, in more than 60 cities.
Reports say that a lot of dealerships have run out of forms by the end of the three days.
A Business Standard report says that 2000 forms were sold on day one from Dehradun alone.
The Tata dealerships and outlets selling the booking forms have been thronged by customers, but not everyone is buying forms. There are a lot of customers who are coming in to browse the details and the financial schemes available.
In spite of the booking amount being as high as Rs 95,000 to Rs 1,40,000, booking forms have been selling at good clip.
Reports say that the top-end variant of the Tata Nano, the Tata Nano LX, is attracting the most number of bookings. The popular colors are Silver and Yellow.
The company had launched Nano on March 23, 2009. The booking window for the Tata Nano, opened from April 9, 2009. The company will take bookings for the Tata Nano, till April 25, 2009.
Considering the high demand for the Tata Nano, the company has said only 100,000 Tata Nanos will be delivered in the first phase.
In a 60-day period after the booking are closed, Tata Motors will announce the owners, who will be chosen through a lottery system. Deliveries will start in July 2009.
The Tata Nano prices will vary for different cities in the country.
